Whether you are an experienced board member or have never served before, you can participate in the Greater Washington Board Leadership Program. We’ll train you in what’s involved. We can also help place you with a nonprofit board that fits your interests and needs your skills.

Be an effective board member. Choose from the services we provide:

• Training for Potential Board Members — Learn about roles, responsibilities, and key financial, legal,
  governance and fundraising issues
• Tailored Placement Services — Find the board that best suits you.
• Training for Existing Nonprofit Board Members —
  Brush up on your skills and learn about specific topics in-depth.
• Ongoing Learning for Board Leadership Program Alumni —
  Stay on top of the latest issues facing nonprofits and board members.

Flexible and easy training. Depending on the course you select, the training lasts from two hours to one workday. Please note that most of these services are fee-based; however we do have scholarships available.
