MLK Day 2010

Thank you to the everyone who participated in the exciting makeover of 6 DC Public Schools on Martin Luther King, Jr Day!!

A big thank you to all who participated in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday of Service 2009. It was a huge success!

  • Over 550 volunteers joined us in our efforts at six DC Public Schools;
  • We painted hallways, classrooms, kitchens and bathrooms;
  • We unpacked donated books and organized them in a library so elementary school children have many new books to read;
  • We welcomed 'celebrities' like Mayor Fenty, Usher, and Toby Maguire to our projects; and
  • We had a great time doing it!

Thanks again to Target for sponsoring the event and helping to make it great.

We are looking forward to seeing you again this year!

To see some photos of the day, see below or click here to view our current albums. More photos will be added all week, so check back often.
