It’s easy. Projects conveniently take place weekends and evenings to allow busy families time to volunteer together. Enjoy the rewards of family volunteering:
Go to orientation. We ask that an adult family member attend an orientation session before volunteering with us. Once you’ve gone through an orientation, you’ll receive our monthly calendar of events with specific requirements for each project, as well as weekly email updates. Projects for youths ages 5–18. Projects vary in the ages of volunteers who can participate. A few projects allow children as young as 5 years old to participate. Others can accommodate youths 10 and older. And it’s fun! Whether you provide meals for the homeless or people with HIV/AIDS, help clean our rivers or provide companionship to the elderly, your family will make new friends along the way and have a great time. Once you’ve gone through orientation, check the monthly calendar and our weekly updates for specific “Family Cares” projects. Learn more about Youth Volunteering. To volunteer through Greater DC Cares, sign up NOW for an orientation! For More Information: |
