Support Greater DC Cares

Together with our individual and business volunteers and our business partners, Greater DC Cares helps make a huge impact in our community!

Each year, Greater DC Cares’ and its partners infuse more than $4 million worth of labor and expertise into this region’s nonprofit organizations and public schools.

Measurable Results. Last year alone, with our volunteers and business partners we:

• Helped build the capacity of 115 nonprofit organizations inareas such as technology, fundraising and human resources by connecting them with skilled volunteers.
• Provided more than 4,000 hours of manpower to local nonprofits by organizing and managing 1,000 hands-on volunteer projects.
• Provided approximately 36,000 meals to people who are homeless or living with HIV/AIDS and other illnesses.
• Strengthened more than 100 nonprofit boards of directors by training and placing business executives to serve.
• Improved the lives of children by building a playground in a low-income community.
• Helped more than 200 local nonprofits upgrade and beautify their facilities by making it possible for them to borrow from our tool lending library, “The Community Tool Chest.”
