We offer three types of leadership training programs: Train to be an emergency response volunteer leader For More Information
Train to lead a project. You can lead projects throughout the year, and you can also lead projects during our marathon days of volunteering during Servathon. 1. Project Coordinators. Individuals who serve as Project Coordinators lead individual monthly Flexible Volunteering events. As a PC, you can work at the same project month-to-month or select projects on a more flexible basis. We’ll provide training on how to recruit volunteers, coordinate a project, manage volunteers and evaluate the project’s success. We send you all the materials you need. We also publicize your event in our monthly calendar and weekly email updates. Volunteers sign up directly with you. Greater DC Cares offers PC training every other month for individuals who have attended our orientation. Orientations take place weekly at our headquarters at 1725 I Street, NW, DC 20006. We can also hold an orientation at a time and location of your choice as long as 15 volunteers participate. To become a Project Coordinator, sign up NOW for orientation. [top] 2. Project Leaders and Project Managers. During Servathon, our annual marathon days of community service in May, Project Leaders manage individual projects. Project Managers oversee several projects at one site. You don’t have to go through our regular orientation to serve in these leadership roles, but shortly before Servathon we hold special trainings to prepare you for these roles.
