Servathon 2008

Each Spring, thousands of volunteers participate in Servathon, the greater DC region’s largest day of community service. Last year, approximately 3,000 volunteers came out to help make a greater impact on positive social change — and help make the DC region a better place to live.

This year, Servathon will be held on May 3, 2008, with events that will span the weeks before and after the event as well, including:

• Citizen Academy Forum — DC School Readiness & Facilities – May 7, 2008
• Board Leadership Program — Build a Strong Parent/Teacher Support Organization!
• Pro Bono Consulting — Skilled Volunteering at DC Public Schools
  • How to Ace the Interview: An interactive workshop for students
  • Technology Training for Teachers
• In-kind Donations — Book Drive

Restoring Schools. Building Community.

Our focus this year will be DC Public Education — an issue that affects all of us living and working in the greater DC area. Projects may include interior and exterior painting, landscaping, playground building and maintenance and much more. Come out and show your DC school spirit!
