Support Greater DC Cares!

The Greater Washington Board Leadership Program supports potential and existing board members and provides training on how to develop a mission-driven board. Since 1999, we’ve trained more than 800 professionals and placed more than 200 of them on the boards of nonprofits throughout the region. Components include:

• Potential board members — We train individuals in the roles, responsibilities of serving on a board including key financial, legal, governance and fundraising issues.
  
  
• Tailored placement services — We identify and introduce you to potential board members who have completed the BLP training and fit your needs.
  
  
• Existing nonprofit board members — Individuals who now serve on your board can brush up on their skills and receive in-depth training about specific topics.
  
  
• Nonprofit executive staff and governance chairs — We also offer workshops for board members and executive staff on how to develop a mission-driven board

Please note that not all nonprofits completing an application will receive a new board candidate. The match is, of course, contingent upon the availability of candidates whose interests and skills match your needs.
