Looking for service hours? Want to get involved in your community?

Sign up NOW for Orientation!

Volunteer with your family.

  • Get a family member to attend orientation. At least one member of the family must participate in our orientation.Orientations are just one hour long and are held in convenient, Metro-accessible locations. Learn more about orientations.
  • Get our Monthly Calendar. Once your family member completes our orientation, you’ll receive our monthly calendar of volunteer projects around the region. You’ll also get a weekly e-mail with updates.
  • Look for “Family Cares” projects. Check out our family-friendly projects, called “Family Cares,” in our monthly calendar. You’ll be able to see the age ranges for volunteers.
A few projects allow children as young as 5 years old. Others
can accommodate kids ages 10 and older. Learn more about
    our Family Cares Program.
  • Volunteer at our special events. You can volunteer at certain projects during Servathon or our Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday of Service.

It’s easy. Each project listing gives you a description of what you’ll be doing, the location, date and hours of service. Just contact the coordinator and come to the project. It’s that simple.

It’s flexible. You can volunteer as frequently — or infrequently — as you like. These projects require no specific skill, conveniently take place weekends and evenings, and most are Metro accessible.

And it’s fun! Whether you provide meals for the homeless or help clean our rivers, you can make new friends along the way and have a great time.

Need to document your service hours? No problem. We can sign a form documenting your time.
